The Midget of Cordon 1/6/25

Image
Once upon a time, Elder Milne (Meal - eh) got transfered to a mystical place called Cordon del Plata. This place is not like the rest of Argentina. Why? Because there's midgets ️ Just joshing, it's because everyone is from Bolivia, all the grandma's hate us, and there are more dogs than people.  But there actually is a midget. A girl we pass by all the time gives us updates on "el duende (midget) que tiene", and how is shushes her in the night. I asked my comp if he knew what the heck she was talking about and he just said no and went along with it. So I guess you just don't ask questions about the midget. THE END Anyways, it's been a crazy couple of weeks but I've had some great holidays here!  For New Years Eve we had a dinner with this super cracked family in our ward, the only one that feeds us actually. But it was a great time, I ate this little piggy, yes the one that went to the market. Sorry Pov: something is a little sus around here But asides...

Feliz Navidad 12/26/24

Hello everyone! Holy cow it's Christmas look at that This Christmas was epic to say the least. I stayed the night with some totally rad Elders last night, got to call my family in the morning, hung out with my zone, played some card games, ate an asado, watched the Chosen and the Best 2 Years (with permission).  This past week has been crazy, I got transfered to Valle de Uco, and it's sooo pretty. The Andes Mountains are my favorite. My area is the smallest in the mission and everyone is from Bolivia. Also there are more dogs than people. So we're having tons of fun, my new comp Elder Contreras is from Chile and he's hilarious, we are laughing half the time and having tons of fun working hard. Spending Christmas as a missionary is the weirdest feeling but something so satisfying it's hard to explain. I know I'm making a sacrifice and it's sad to be away from family and friends (all of you ), but that sadness is filled with an immeasurable amount of joy in my...

Elder Miel and the dub baptism 12/16/24

This is gonna be a long one forgive me... An hermana this week called me Elder Miel (honey) and I think I might go with it.... Whats up all it's Elder Miel, hope you all had a great week full of Christmas spirit!  This week we got rear ended in an Uber by a semi-truck. It was the most chill thing ever and I was just like what just happened. He just made us walk the rest of the way Two youth in our ward referenced us their friends and cousins and so we crashed their hangout and brought the spirit in a lesson! We called it "mujeres jovenes" (young women). Two of them came to church the next day as well It was my comp Elder Hughes' last week so lots of goodbyes and packing and all the weird things of going home. It was really weird seeing the whole process of a dying missionary, Elder Hughes left this morning and now im in a trio. We get transfer news later today so stay tuned for next week... I'm excited for Christmas, then I get start the grind of my full year in t...

Baptism 12/9/24

Hey everyone! We're todo piola here in the Argentine land Sorry I didn't send an email last week, I played fĂștbol literally the whole day and now my nose is peeling and my legs hurt for the first half of the week Last week we had thanksgiving and it was the most normal day of my mission probably. Had some pretty good food though with the Zanni fam. Calling my family was a blast as well, lots of chaos and catching up This week Gabriel got baptized!! Elder Hughes, my comp, has a phrase "baptism week" where every week of a baptism the work is harder and there's lots of opposition, and it's real alright. We had so many lessons canceled and walking in the hot sun this week but we pushed through and saw lots of miracles!  I got to baptize Gabriel and it was a super cool experience. The spirit was so strong and I felt so grateful being a part of his conversion and change in his life. He stopped drinking coffee this week and even rejected alcohol from his friends! The...

This email goes out to @Deedee Hardman who I saw in a church video probably made by @Tucker Dansie #GOATstatus This week was great and I'm loving the missionary life. Lots of hardcore studying, talking with people, and working with our 2 people with baptismal dates, Gabriel and Yoselin. They both didn't go to church on Sunday (my life is hard) "Its getting hot in here" -that one song But seriously it's hot in San Juan. We had a miracle and a family that we've been teaching all came to church with a member, and they are super nice and they have a daughter that literally just turned 8 (music to a missionary's ears) This week we are gonna try to put a baptismal date with them! We had a conference in Mendoza and it was awesome because half the mission came to hear a 70 speak, it was pretty cool. Got to see some good MTC friends, meet some legends, and eat some rico food.  Stay tuned for a White Christmas here in Mendoza Argentina, we have the goal for every co...
