Elder Milne's Mission in Mendoza, Argentina

Yooooo what's good everybody! This week was great and also a bit weird but we thrivin here in San Juan, Argentina. This week we had the temple dedication! It was so awesome and cool to see these people who have patiently worked and served their part in the Lord's work and are now finally recieving the blessings of a temple. AND Elder Rasband came to dedicate it and he spoke in English with a LIVE translator, which meant I got to hear it in English and Spanish! It was so powerful and I felt the spirit so strong, I may have even shed a tear or two We had Zone Conference this week and it was super good to see my old MTC friends, meet and learn from some of the older missionaries, and feel the spirit. We sang a four part to the song "En Ti Pensamos", which is 107 in the new hymn book, it was fire and very spiritual. Also apparently in the last year the mission has absolutely exploded and 1/4 of the mission is in training so no pressure for us  (*gulp) but hey aguante la ...

What's up party people! This week totally happened! New feature Word of the Week: -Fachero --> drippy/handsome I had intercambios with Elder Lewis and he's a goober! He is about to go home so he trained me in his ways We taught a lesson partially in English because the guy new a lot and it was unusually easy compared to spanish. I also tried my new favorite alfajor (coconut) Our friend Alex is super cool and he is insane at the guitar . He even let me give it a spin (I shredded ). He also gave Elder Cook a super fachero shirt. But he is super nice and is praying to know whether to get baptized or not so we're super excited for him. We had stake conference and there were tons of people there, it was super cool. Hola a todos! This week was pretty great and I'm starting to get in the groove of this missionary thing. As of yesterday I've been a missionary for 2 months! Time is literally not real here and I have a feeling I'm gonna wake up one morning and it's all gonna be over, so I'm making the most of every day!  #grindneverstops This week I did my first intercambios with Elder Hinckley from Dallas Texas . He's super cool and it was fun to see a different area, apartment, and missionary in the works for a day . There's a treat here called Alfajores, which is like and they are BANGER, especially the white ones. Hola everybody! I hope you are all doing well! This week was a little less crazy than the last one, i finally put my sheets on my bed and got a little bit settled in I'm learning tons everyday, and the spanish is coming pretty fast so that's a miracle and I've come to know the gift of tongues is REAL.  I got to give a blessing in Spanish this week! It was my first blessing too. An amiga we were teaching was having problems walking and wanted a blessing, and for some reason asked me to do it. The crazy thing is I wasn't even very nervous and it went well, because the spirit was guiding and comforting me. Isn't the spirit amazing! We had lunch with a member and at the end they gave us maple syrup from Canada because they have family from Canada or something. But you can't find syrup anywhere here and my comp Elder Cook was so excited! Hola everyone! Sorry it’s been a while but I’m alive and well. I am officially in Argentina and it’s been an insane week! I’m in an area called Chimbas in San Juan, and the people here are so nice!  My last week of the CCM was awesome, and it was sad to say goodbye to everyone but also exciting because literally half of everyone I was friends with went to Argentina with me.  We left on Tuesday morning and I woke up at 3:15, then flew 9 hours to Buenos Aires and stayed in a hotel for 3 hours, woke up, flew to Mendoza, and got there at around 10 am. Then we met our Presidency, and we got to go to the temple. Then all the trainers came and they announced each companionship at a time. It was super fun and everyone was going crazy.  My new trainer Elder Cook, and ironically he is a mighty fine cook . Hola! I hope you have all had a great week and summer! (Can't believe it's over already) I officially have one week left in the CCM! It has gone insanely fast but I'm so excited to get to Argentina and get to work, even though none of my district has our flight plans yet (don't worry mom, all will be well) Meet Hermano Delgado: one of my Spanish teachers here in México! He is hilarious and is planning on proposing to his girlfriend but doesn't have a ring or a plan, so keep him in your prayers. Every once in a while they whip out some chicken bakes from Costco and everyone fiens over them.  One night we were surprised to see chicken bakes on someone's plate and rushed over, only to wait 30 more minutes for half a chicken bake each because they were running slow. Hola! Y bienvenidos a mi email! This week has been great and gone by insanely fast wowza. It's crazy to think I only have 2 weeks until I leave for Argentina, but I'm getting more excited and more ready everyday. We do this thing every week called helping others, it's just a small lesson with someone on Zoom. This week Elder Nash and I taught a sweet lady named Patricia from Mexico. The lesson started out rough, and it was not one of our best ones let me tell ya. But in middle of it I felt prompted to ask her to share her testimony of Christ. She shared a few simple things, and I didn't understand much, but she talked about a really rough time in her life. She was very emotional, and I was almost crying just listening to her, but she said that because of Christ, she was able to make it out and find peace and joy in her life. It was such a powerful experience, and strengthened my testimony of the gift of tongues. The gift of tongues is not just being able to speak, learn...

Hoooolllllaaaaa, and welcome back tooooo…. Elder Milne’s Weekly Emails!! Ba ba baaaaa. This week was awesome and I am pretty much used to the MTC life. My district is flipping awesome and I definitely lucked out! My Spanish is definitely improving, and I love feeling the spirit so much every day! Here's some highlights: Last week we got to go to the temple and do baptisms and confirmations AND initiatories! It was so cool, even though I didn't understand much of it. The Mexico City temple was awesome and the visitor center was like a castle inside.  Mexico City Temple: We don't have much free time as missionaries, but when we do we gotta get a little creative. In between our 2nd class and dinner we have like 30 min so we came up with “Ultimate Wallet”. It's literally just ultimate Frisbee with a little wallet in an extremely small space and you can't run.
