Root Beer NOOOOO 3/3/25

Image
Hola a todos!   (sorry this ones long)... I hope you all had a splendid week! Mine was full of ups and downs like a coconut in the ocean First off, turned 19 and had the most epic birthday ever! My family sent me a package (love you mom), and I got root beer packets, mac and cheese powder, and maple to make syrup! I also got a few bracelets and ties, and this cool boxing headband!! Absolutely épico! Went and lunched an asado with Familia Diaz, topped with a cake ! Oh yeah!  This crazy awesome grandpa played us a song on his ukulele type instrument called a Charango (it's from Bolivia), and it was fantástico! All topped off with a call with the amazing Milne family (shout out) and straight up good birthday vibes. Thanks mom for giving birth to me! Also, the next two days we had a conference with a seventy, Elder Costa and his wife! They are super cool, I highly recommend his conference talks! They talked about our mission purpose and how it is centered in the Gos...

Watermelon 2/24/25

Image
Whats up everyone, I hope everyone likes watermelon because we have a LOT. The one member gives a giant one like everytime we pass by and we cant resist. Also, me and my comp were talking about how watermelon is super overhyped and it's actually just a mid fruit. We have been making jokes about it a bunch and saying, "WATERMELON!? I DIDNT KNOW WE HAD WATERMELON LOVE WATERMELON!". It's a pretty good time. Let me know what you think about watermelon in the comment section.  Shout out to Derek Spencer, he followed me on Facebook. Love you man. A funny moment this week was I was helping an hermana carry stuff to her store, and there was this drunk guy just laid out on the ground with a beer in his hand. It was at that moment I knew for sure my life here is real. This week was great! We found a lot more people and had some good progress. Here's some highlights of some of our friends: Gonzalo y Luna: they are progressing well for their baptism. Gonzalo drinks coffee 3 t...

Pain and Protein 2/17/25

Image
This week was full of pain and protein; let me explain: Pain:  - lots of grinding in the daily workouts  - no girlfriend on valentines day  - we have like 5 people we are teaching right now because everyone hates us here Protein:   - lots of protein That's about it for this week, stay tuned for the next one Just kidding, although it was pretty hilarious on valentines day as me and my comp ate tres leche and told funny dating stories and made jokes about how lonely we are. We almost made a map of our love lives but ran out of time.  Next time. Speaking of my comp, shout-out to Elder Beckstead, he's single, benches 300, squats 455, and his heart is even bigger than his quads. He's going to SUU in 1.5 years so let me know if anyone's interested.  Speaking of the work, it's been a rough week, we spend all of our time in the same neighborhood because that's basically our area, and all the members just tell us nobody wants to listen to us when we ask for ref...

Elder Bistéc 2/10/25

Image
What's up guys, were back with another one This week we had transfers, said bye to my good friend Elder Contreras (viva Chile)  and said hello to my also good friend Elder Beckstead! It's hype because we already know each other from being in the same district! He has one transfer less than me so we are just grinding here in Cordon. The Branch President here called him Elder Bistéc, and me Elder Milanesa, and we grinding protein and working out because my comp is the biggest Elder in the mish. (it's awesome) Stay tuned for the transformation... This week we met an incomplete family (the mom is inactive and the 3 kids aren't baptized), and they all came to church, except for 1 of the kids who was with his dad, but the rest came! We gonna be working hard this week and following the spirit to get them on date and get them in the water by the end of this month! Stay tuned... I've been studying in Mosiah, and I loved this verse: 24:13 - "And it came to pass that the ...

Los Doctores 2/3/25

Image
This week was epic! If I had to use one story to sum it up, it would be this:  We visited a person that had been taught before by the missionaries and met her, she was super nice. Then her teenage daughter came out with her toddler son, and he saw us and started crying. We didn't know why, but then the mom said it's because he thought we were doctors! So now every time we pass by, he starts crying and we feel super bad but it's hilarious.  I'm having a hard time remembering what we did this week, but it was great! We had lots more lessons with members (finally), and also turned on ministering mode and helped an inactive member come to church (more coming soon). Also one of our recent converts who hasn't been super active said she wants to go to the temple, and bore her testimony in church! Another one said he wants to get the priesthood so we're super hyped for that!  This week the sacrament meeting was so powerful. First off, we got a reference from a member of...

Poco Loco 1/27/25

Image
Hello everybody! I hope your all having a wonderful start of your week! Here's a quick update on my last couple of weeks: Had a good couple of p-days, went and played a game called paddle, it's like pickleball but with weird paddles and a backboard Also made some pizzas and got permission to watch the 17 miracles. I totally didn't cry.... I also learned Poco Loco from Coco and it's insanely fun. My fingers hurt a little bit. We're finding tons of people. We've hit 10 people the last 2 weeks. It's super cool to see so many miracles prepared by the Lord and be guided in such crazy and specific ways to meet the people that are being prepared.  We had Zone Conference! I love zone conferences especially now that I know lots more missionaries! I got to see some old buddies and my trainer, Elder Cook! I also love couseling together and learned more about how we can keep growing and being better instruments in the hands of the Lord! I dare you to find me in this pic...
