CARNAVAL 3/10/25

Welp. Another one. I actually realized the other day when I read Elder Kessler's email that I hit 8 months which means I'm 1/3 of the way. That scares me a lot, i feel like I just got here. I just prefer to not think about it.

This week there was this thing called Carnaval. It's a holiday celebrated in Bolivia and Ecuador (according to my dad) and maybe some other places. But of course because I'm basically in Bolivia, they celebrated it here!😁 Basically everything whips out shaving cream and water balloons and has a huge water fight. I'm pretty sure that's about it. But we were told to be careful because it can get dangerous, and that we were for sure gonna get wet. That didn't stop us! We only went into the main neighborhood where all the chaos was once because our other lessons were outside of it, and it was for like 5 minutes to contact someone but we got completely soaked. It was awesome!

We talked to these 2 Jehovas Witnesses and they were super chill. It was awesome and we found a lot of things in common. We're gonna work together to plan a service project with as many of these random churches as we can here. Share the love, spread the peace✌️

The branch threw a dance and we went for a little but just sat there and ate hot dogs and pizza. I felt so lame in that moment and have never wanted to dance more in my lifeπŸ₯²πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ

Classic Argentina: we came back to the pension to go to the bathroom, and accidentally left the door open. The neighbors dog then just walked in, and sat down on the bathroom floor and would not move. We had to get the owner to come and he like sprayed it with something and then just picked it up and took it out. It was pretty hilarious not gonna lie. πŸ™ƒ

A mission has been something I have wanted to do my whole life. These last 8 months have been amazing and I've learned a lot. But I sometimes worry I'm not gonna complete the mission I came here to do, or compare myself with other missionaries or the amount of baptisms. But I like this verse I found today: D&C 31:3

"Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of your mission is come; and your tongue shall be loosed, and you shall declare glad tidings of great joy unto this generation."

Just remember that this is a gospel of joy! Because of Jesus Christ, we can always find joy and when we put our faith in Him, we can see miracles! I've seen the power of the Holy Ghost change peoples lives as well as my own, and I'm excited to keep that going for 16 more months and the rest of my life!

Love you all! Sigan firmes! πŸ’ͺ
